The difference between the GPS Storybook and Catholic Bible Chronicles

Here are the key points in the differences of GPS Storybook compared to  Catholic Bible Chronicles.


  • God’s Plan in Scripture Storybook (GPSS) provides summaries of Bible stories whereas Catholic Bible Chronicles (CBC) provides actual stories
  • GPSS is designed to be a teaching tool/curriculum supplement whereas CBC is designed to be a stand-alone Bible storybook, suitable for reading for enjoyment
  • GPSS was written with the expectation that a parent or catechist will read along with the child whereas CBC is designed so that children can read it on their own (4th- to 6th-grade reading level)--though Mom and Dad may thoroughly enjoy these stories too!
  • GPSS includes stories from the narrative, as well as supplemental, books identified in The Bible Timeline whereas CBC has 70 stories carefully chosen to represent the narrative arc of salvation history.  Most are Key Events in The Great Adventure Bible.
