Is the Ascension App the same as Hallow?
Although Hallow does carry our podcasts (and we don't intend to remove our podcast from the app), they are a separate app and not owned or hosted by Ascension.
Hallow has built itself to be an incredibly helpful prayer app, but it is not a Bible app. Our app will be more of a Bible app (not a prayer app) so we see these two as complementary to each other, offering a different focus for each.
One other notable difference is with support. While Hallow does not offer phone support, you can call into our customer support team during business hours to speak to a live team member to help answer your questions.
Our new Ascension App will be free to download, and at its launch, will focus on Ascension podcasts and other faith formation material (such as audio studies and study plans). However, it will also include the text of the Great Adventure Catholic Bible as well as the Catechism of the Catholic Church, Ascension edition (Now available on our web app), an interactive copy of the reading plan, daily readings, and allow you to quickly pull up the podcast readings directly from the app.
There will also be other paid features available through an optional subscription, with more features being added to the web app soon.
