TGA Bible/ACAT
Both of these books are part of the free features and available to use while offline. This is a great option for people looking for a portable option such as travelers or international customers. The text and spacing can also be adjusted and made larger for the reader’s comfort.
Autoplay, Speed, Font Size
In the app, go to your profile (top right) and choose Text and Audio Settings. Then, for audio options, choose Autoplay next episode. You can also change the playback speed (faster or slower), size of the text as well as spacing between lines.
Notifications
In the “Settings” (found in the profile, top right), you can turn on notifications for BIY, CIY or both, and set a custom time to be notified (reminded) about continuing the podcast.
Migrate Progress
This feature allows you to mark multiple episodes as complete, and useful for users who are coming to our app from a different app (such as Hallow or Spotify). Found in the “Settings”, tap on Migrate Progress and turn on BIY, CIY or both. Then, tap the grey box below ans search for the last completed episode of that podcast. Confirm by tapping “Update”.
Reading Plans
Both BIY and CIY reading plans are available in the app. When the user taps on an episode, they can then tap on the reading plan icon at the top right, next to the three dots. (This will look like a piece of paper with writing). Tapping this icon will open the reading plan for that particular podcast.
Calendar
The calendar at the top of the app’s home screen will host features specific to certain calendar days. Examples include Saint of the Day, Lenten/Advent reflections, the Sunday Homily, and daily readings (or reflections relating to that day’s mass readings).
Accessing the current week is free, but accessing previous weeks is a premium feature.
Downloading Episodes
Can now download individual episodes to the app, as well as view your downloaded episodes (“See All” then change the top to “Downloaded”)
Spanish?
(Considered, but not yet available)
Audio Studies
Acts, The Bible Timeline, A Biblical Walk Through the Mass, Ephesians, Exodus, First Corinthians, Follow Me (Meeting Jesus in the Gospel of John), Foundations of Faith, Freedom to Love, Galatians, The Gift, Hebrews, How to Pray Like Mary, Into the Heart: A Journey Through the Theology of the Body, An Introduction to the Theology of the Body, James, Jesus: the Way, the Truth and the Life, Matthew, Momnipotent, No Greater Love, Prophets, Psalms, Revelation, Romans, and A Quick Journey Through the Bible, What We Believe: The Beauty of the Catholic Faith
Bible Answers
These are found within the text of the Bible itself, with a few listed at the bottom of the home screen as well. No list or easily searchable feature.
Bible Timeline
Open the Bible and either swipe left, or choose “Timeline” at the top of your screen.
Daily Readings
Open the app and choose the calendar at the top of the screen to access the day’s readings. Uses RSV-2CE translation.
Family Sharing
There is no family sharing plan at this time, but you can use the app on multiple devices as long as you sign in with the same email/password. For now, if you're signing in with the same email address and password, you should be able to share the same subscription across more than one device. However, if you're signing in with different email addresses, it will not recognize your existing subscription purchase or listening history and require a new (separate) subscription.
Transcripts (Free Feature)
Open the app and press play on the episode they want to listen to. At the bottom, there will be a chat box to the left (transcripts), three dots with lines (other episodes), and three dots on the right (other options). Select the chat box on the left, and it will open the transcript for the episode.
The new feature isn’t showing on my device?
To help in getting to the bottom of things, ask the customer a few questions.
- What version of the app are you using? (This can be found by opening your profile at the top right of the app's home screen, then scrolling down to the bottom of the page.) Have you tried checking if the app needs to be updated? (Updating the app resolves the problem 99% of the time.)
- Have you tried deleting the app and reinstalling it? (This gets the app “unstuck”)
