Differences in font size in the Catechism

The font size variation in the Catechism is not original to Ascension, but actually based off the Catechism's original text. Other editions of the Catechism prior to ours have the same changes in font size. The reason is described in the prologue section of the Catechism. Paragraphs 20-21 in the prologue explain that smaller print is used for quotes, and also for supplementary or doctrinal explanations. Father Mike will also discusses this in the first few days of the podcast.

One example is, paragraph 250 discusses the Trinity, paragraph 251, in the smaller font, provides a doctrinal explanation of terms such as "person," "substance," and "hypostasis," and then paragraph 252 continues the discussion in the standard font. There are no omissions in the Ascension Edition of the Catechism. The font size variation is a Catechism feature, and we do apologize at the difficulty in reading the smaller font size.
