Catholic Classics: Introduction to the Devout Life

While you're welcome to listen to the podcast with your copy of the Devout Life, we recommend our version as it is the only publication of Matthew Minerd’s updated translation of the 1891 translation and the work was done with the modern reader in mind.  It is also the only translation which includes the introduction, commentary, and footnotes by Fr. Gregory Pine, O.P. and Fr. Jacob Bertrand Janczyk, O.P.

In order to read along with the “Catholic Classics” podcast, participants will need this translation to do so as other translations commonly miss sections of St. Francis de Sales’ full work.

We would also recommend downloading the Introduction to the Devout Life Reading Plan.
